4 Quick Money Saving Ideas For Buying In Bulk41_4_Quick_Money_Saving_Ideas_For_Buying_In_Bulk

Buying in bulk at wholesale supermarkets is extremely underrated. What is a wholesale supermarket, you ask? Have you ever wondered where your local deli or milk bar purchases a lot of their stock from? A wholesale supermarket is the answer. Think of a big Bunnings, however with food.

These supermarkets are located all around Australia. But they don't just carry food. These huge stores carry everything from cleaning gear, cookware, kid's toys and even some clothes. Plus the best part, because they sell bucketloads of products and the store is a no frills layout, the prices are dirt cheap.

But don't you have to own a business to get into one of these stores? Well, yes and no. The local Campbell's wholesale store where we got some excellent bargains requires an ABN to shop there. Plus a small fee every year for the privilege. However when we were talking to the manager, he said there are plans in the works to drop this. Plus he said they also give out day passes to anyone if they ask nicely.

Also the manager said you don't have to have a business yourself. He said a lot of people who work for small businesses will get their boss to sign up to shop there. Then the boss lets the staff use the card so they can all save money.

Here is a link to the Campbell's wholesale group to see where the closest one to you is.

They have stores in each state except for Tas and NT.

There are huge savings to be had if you just shop at wholesale supermarkets. Here are some good ideas to save money on NON FOOD items. Things that sooner or later you will use, but will not go off or have a use by date.

  1. They are selling 15 kilos of Fab washing powder for $30.00. This is extremely favourable to purchasing the same product at our local shopping centre for $2.00 per 500 grams. Had you purchased 15kg in the 500 gram containers you would spend $60. Or an additional 50% more!
  2. Hand wash from our local supermarket can cost between $7.00 for 1 litre for the cheapest, or right up to $9.96 for the most expensive. Just by shopping at a wholesale supermarket we purchased 5 litres of handwash for $16.89. This is 52% cheaper than purchasing through a local supermarket.
  3. Spray and Wipe cost us $7.98 a litre. However once again we found it in a five litre container for $9.59 per litre. A saving of 76%. Remember you will need a spray bottle. These can cost $2 from a local supermarket. A funnel is a good idea as well. These can cost as little as $0.50
  4. At our local supermarket one litre of window cleaner costs $8.98. At the Campbell's Cash and Carry it costs $12.59 for five litres. A saving of 74%.
