“A gym patron is in shock after unwittingly paying about $3000 in fees for a membership that expired eight years ago.” Annette Alexander thought monthly payments of $33.75 stopped when her 20-month contract with Rebound Leisure Club ended in 2003. While she rarely checked bank statements, she had no reason to believe the payments were continuing and had not received correspondence asking why she had not been to the gym.
