Brisbane Scores Most Expensive Fuel Prices In Australia

ABC.net.au
An RACQ report has found Brisbane had Australia's most expensive capital city fuel last year.

Toowoomba, on southern Queensland's Darling Downs, has the state's cheapest petrol.

RACQ spokesman Paul Turner says regional motorist are benefiting from competition in the marketplace.

"State-wide the cheapest place to buy fuel in 2010 was Toowoomba and that's the second year in a row Toowoomba has been the cheapest place to buy fuel," he said.

"Toowoomba is a very competitive market.

"It's a major logistical centre and it's a major freight route, so Toowoomba was the cheapest, followed by Bundaberg and Townsville."
