The State Government says power price rises are inevitable in Queensland.
The Supreme Court last month agreed with energy companies AGL and Origin that the increase for this past financial year was not enough.
A revised figure is expected today from the Competition Authority.
Energy Minister Stephen Robertson says the power companies may add the difference to next year's increase, which is due to be announced next week.
"Nobody enjoys seeing prices increase, particularly for electricity but there are some realities that we cannot avoid," he said.
