Golden Syrup Dumplings

Preparation time: 5 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
Ingredients
2 cups hot water
2 tblspns golden syrup
1 tblspn butter
1/2 cup caster sugar
2 tblspns margarine
2 cups self raising flour
milk as required
Method
1. Pour hot water into a saucepan, add golden syrup, butter & sugar, bring to boil.
2. In a bowl, rub margarine into flour, add enough milk to form a soft dough.
3. Roll into balls and place in syrup. Simmer for about 20 minutes.
4. Serve hot with whipped cream.
