How To Make Your Own Cleaning Products!
8 Great Tips To Save You Money At The Supermarket!
We all hate cleaning. However at least you can save some money at the same time. These quick ideas will have your house spotless and your bank account full. Thanks again to Jackie Gower for these ideas.
- Stop buying expensive shower sprays to clean the bath, toilet and shower. Try using bi-carb soda and vinegar. It stops soap scum in its tracks. Wet the area you want to clean and let the water drain away. Sprinkle the whole area with bi-carb soda, using a small shaker. Then spray it with white vinegar. Leave this for a few minutes. Then scrub the area clean!
- No need to buy a room deodoriser. Pop a little bi-carb soda or vinegar in an open dish. This will absorb the rooms' odours.
- Forget buying microfibre cloths. Recycle your or your partner's old stockings. Use them instead. Plus when they are too dirty you can fold them inside out. You can even use them with disinfectant sprays.
- Stop getting upset at your pets. Did you know you can use rubber gloves (e.g. dishwashing gloves) to pick up dog and cat hair? Just wipe your hands over the lounge or carpet. You will find the hair comes up quite easily. This saves you buying an expensive electrostatic broom or dustpan.
- We paid over $125 to get our oven professionally cleaned. We could have saved ourselves this money if we knew this trick. You can have a great clean of those old racks by using aluminium foil. Wrap the rack in the aluminium foil, place them in some very hot water in the laundry sink. Also add some laundry detergent. They have to be 100% covered by the hot water. Let sit until the water has gone cold. Then rub with steel wool; it will bring your oven racks back to life.
- To clean your microwave cheaply and without the need for expensive chemicals. Place a few slices of lemon in a cup of water and cook for a few minutes. When finished, just wipe out the microwave with a sponge or soft cloth. You will soon have a clean microwave with a fresh lemon smell.
- How many times have you had a blocked drain? Put a tablespoon of bi-carb soda in the drain, followed by about a capful of white vinegar. The strong fizzing action soon unblocks the drain.
- For a cheap and quick chemical free floor cleaning solution, just fill a bucket with hot water. Squeeze the juice of one lemon into it and add a few drops of olive oil. Then wipe over as usual. The lemon leaves a pleasant fragrance and the olive oil will make your floor shine.
