Melbourne Has Lowest Grocery Prices

Good news. Guess which capital city has the lowest grocery prices. The winner is Melbourne.

In fact a basket of 46 everyday items in Melbourne costs $263.67.

For the same basket in Darwin, $279.62 (a $15.95 difference)

For the same basket in Sydney, $264.59 (a $0.92 difference)

But Melbourne prices were still higher than last year on the same 46 goods. The same basket last year would have cost $259.76. A $3.91 increase.
