There are 22 million people in Australia. Let’s pretend on average, 3 people live in each dwelling. That’s 7,333,333 homes. Out of these 7 million homes, would you believe more than 200,000 are in server payment streets, as reported by Fujitsu Consulting? And a lot of these 200,000 are known to be first homebuyers.
The reason has been put down to higher interest payments and higher house prices. Also population growth and building new houses has been behind the 8 ball. House prices just seem to be outstripping people’s wages.
