Port Headland Has Australias Most Expensive Fuel

PORT Hedland is the country's most expensive place to fill up the petrol tank as three other WA towns take their place in the top 10.

Latest figures compiled by Orima Research and Commsec shows that the petrol price in Port Hedland for last week has averaged $1.54 a litre, nearly five cents a litre clear of Alice Springs, which is ranked number two.

WA had four towns featuring in the top 10, including Port Hedland, with the petrol price in Broome at $1.489/l, Carnarvon at $1.448/l and Geraldton at $1.375/l.
