Do you use lawn fertiliser? Most fertilisers need to be watered in right away. However there is a new generation of lawn fertilisers which don't require this. They sit on the lawn until it rains, then it starts taking effect. Look for these and save on your water bill.

When watering a lawn, give it a thorough watering once a week, instead of little waterings daily. The big watering will allow the water to get down to the root system of the lawn.

Avoid mowing lawns on very hot days. Shorter lawn can burn far more quickly than longer lawns.
