Quick_Ways_To_Stay_Entertained_On_The_WeekendSeven Quick Ways To Stay Entertained On The Weekend!

It's Saturday night and you feel like doing something fun. There are literally 100s of options open to you. And most of these options cost quite a lot of money. Renee and I have come up with some really cheap things to do on a Saturday night to avoid spending your hard earned cash.

  1. Rent a movie but not an overnighter. Unless you are a movie critic do you realise how many good movies are out there that you have never seen.Older movies have heaps to offer. Plus they are normally $2 for a weekly hire, rather than $6 for the overnight ones. To find these hidden gems, just Google: 100 movies everyone should see. You will find heaps of great reviews on movies you never knew existed.
  2. Forget buying expensive snacks. Purchase some homemade popcorn kernels for your movie night. They are beyond cheap for a kilogram from any supermarket. Plus they make so much popcorn. Add some butter and you're ready to go.
  3. Find a local sporting event to go to. My wife and I once went to an American football game on a Saturday night. A gold coin donation got us in. Plus we packed our own snacks. And we got to see a sport we had never seen live before. This is sure cheaper than going to the AFL or Rugby where tickets can be $25 for just one person.
  4. The classic board game. Dust off that old Monopoly board or Scrabble game. Grab yourself some popcorn and start playing. Of course cards are always a great option as well. Write in Google: new card games. There are heaps you probably have never heard about. They are all online with the game rules and instructions.
  5. Don't even want to spend $2 on a DVD. How about this for an idea. Grab your TV guide and highlight all your favourite shows during the week. Then tape them and watch on Saturday night. For example let's say your household never misses Home and Away. Each night from Monday to Friday get the VCR ready. Avoid watching the show or talking about the show with people you know who watch it. Now you can watch all two and half hours on Saturday night. That's longer than a movie and you know you will enjoy it!
  6. Grab a book. No, don't go out and purchase a book. Grab one from your local library. You would be suprised at the new books libraries carry now. Plus they even have videos and DVDs. All for Free!
  7. There are tons of free downloadable games on the Internet. These include board games. For example, I found a version of Monopoly I could just download. Just Google this and see what you can turn up.
