SHOPPERS will shoulder the cost of this month's floods for months to come with rising grocery prices.
Industry experts say items such as tomatoes, capsicums, onions, zucchinis, watermelons, lamb and beef have all been affected by wet summer weather and will soar in price, some by as much as 30 per cent.
Weather conditions have affected the growing, picking and transportation of fresh fruit and vegetables across several states.
National Farmers Federation president Jock Laurie said there had been major damage to fruit and vegetable-growing areas.
