Written By Keith Cameron Smith

Review 3 Stars – Good Read
How the blurb describes the book:
What does it take to become a millionaire – hard work, determination, a bit of luck? All of those help, but as an entrepreneur and motivational speaker, Keith Cameron Smith makes it clear in this life-changing book, a millionaire is first and foremost a state of mind.
In the top 10 habits of millionaires, Smith elaborates on ten key principles that animate the millionaire mindset – habits that can be learned and mastered by anyone who wants to improve their financial position. They include:
Millionaires think long term – create a clear vision of the life you desire and focus on it.
Millionaires talk about ideas- not things and people – ask positive “what if” questions every day and bounce ideas off successful people who will be honest with you.
Millionaires embrace change – be patient while change is unfolding and find the hidden benefits.
What you believe about money has everything to do with how much money you will make. Following Keith Cameron Smith’s smart and sensible advice will help you achieve long-sought financial – and emotional – abundance.
Mr Home Budget’s Review: Right away if you are looking for a book to teach you step by step how to work out your home budget and become a millionaire, this is not for you.
This book is more a pocket-sized book on what questions you should ask to get ready to become a millionaire; and how to change your mindset to really focus on thinking like a millionaire.
As the title suggests, it lists ten habits and takes them from 10 to 1 in order of importance. The book refers to these habits as the distinctions between millionaires and the middle class. Counting back from ten the habits are.
10 Millionaires think long term
9 Millionaires talk about ideas
8 Millionaires embrace change
7 Millionaires take calculated risks
6 Millionaires continually learn and grow
5 Millionaires work for profit
4 Millionaires believe they must be generous
3 Millionaires have multiple sources of income
2 Millionaires focus on increasing their net worth
1 Millionaires ask themselves empowering questions
This book is definitely written towards the business owner or starter. It almost takes pity on those who just want to work for a boss. And in some ways it talks down to people who don’t aspire to become millionaires. For example:
“The middle class is trapped in the rat race because it doesn’t take risks. The only way out of the rat race is to take risks. The only way out of the rat race is to take risks. No, that is not a typo. I intentionally wrote it twice.”
Or
“People who work for wages end up earning enough to live on, but not much more. It is rare for someone to make enough money from an hourly or salary position to become financially free.”
However, the book does deliver what it promises. It never holds your hand and says in plain English this is what you should do first. It leaves the ball in your court. But in a way, by leaving the ball in your court you come up with your own decisions.
It does confront you with some pretty startling questions about not only your own life, but also where you are heading. And if you are spinning your wheels not going anywhere in life, it talks about you confronting the fear of failure, the fear of rejection, and the fear of loss.
If you want a book with some interesting stories; new ways to think about your life. Or to help you change your mindset, while at the same time being easy to read and understand, pick up a copy. However, don’t expect to be given all the answers from this smaller than usual book.
Pros
Easy to read and very short.
Will confront some things in your life you might not have thought about.
Has some interesting real life stories.
Cons
It doesn’t give you the finer details on how to do it.
Can put down the middle class or people who just don’t want to become millionaire.
The book is written for people who want to start up their own businesses.
